Superb coffee & coffee blended drinks, the best in Story County. Funky, friendly, eclectic atmosphere. Nice selection of reasonably priced, gently used albums and some stereo equipment. Owner/employees are very friendly, funny and bright people.

Fun, friendly, full of life! I'm coming here after a long time and the shop owner gives the same cordial behavior. Also come here if you're into vinyl records.

Friendly, fun and AMAZING coffee. We had Milli Vanilli and a custom drink that tasted like cinnamon toast crunch. The best coffee we have had in a very long time. Go here and nowhere else!

We had the berry white (white chocolate blackberry) and b-side (white chocolate raspberry)hot drinks. Both were delicious! Such a cool vibe coffee shop! Only wish they came in mugs for those who enjoyed in the cafe

The Vinyl Cafe is a must visit in Ames. It has a ton of interesting records to flip through and look at. The owner/barista is awesome, friendly and attentive - wish I caught his name. There is some of the most uniquely crafted coffees you'll find here - I had a banana and hazelnut latte that tasted just like a banana. The menu is extensive, so take your pick. They have free wifi and power outlets for those wishing to study or get work done. Great hangout spot. Fantastic background music. Highly recommend!

I got a pour over that was very delicious. They use top shelf beans from KC I believe. I chatted with the folks there who were both funny and interesting to talk to. I would highly recommend giving them a stop if you're in the area.

The last several years I’ve mostly ordered the Deep Cut (a.k.a. Barista’s choice/ the surprise me) and it was delicious each time. The atmosphere fits Ames so well and I love every time I stop by for great coffee and friendly conversation.
